Manage Products
Introduction - Products.
Products are the goods or services that you deal with in your business.
Whenever you Create transactions for your customers or suppliers, you can add these products and their details will be auto-populated.
There are two ways of adding products in FinalBooks:
- Create from Manage Product creation page
- Import Products
Inventory for Products.
in FinalBooks, you can enter an opening stock for your products. Whenever you make sales or purchase transactions for products in FinalBooks, this stock gets auto-calculated accordingly. For example, let’s say you enter the opening stock for product A as 100. Then, you make an invoice for a customer by selling 70 units of Products A . Now, the stock will get reduced to 30 (100-70). You now decide to purchase 100 units of product A from your supplier and Create a bill for the same. Now the stock will be increased to 130 (100+30). This is how inventory tracking works in FinalBooks.
How to Create Product.
- Go to the INVENTORY menu and select MANAGE PRODUCT.
- Click the + ADD NEW button in the top right of the page.
- Enter PRODUCT NAME.
- Select UNIT of MEASUREMENT and PRODUCT TYPE.
- You can add other details such as their TAX & PRICING, DESCRIPTION, INVENTORY & OPTIONS, PHOTOS and CUSTOM FIELDS by navigating through the different tabs at the left of the page.
- After entering all the details, click SAVE.
Fields | Description |
---|---|
Selling Price | Price at which you sell the product to your customers. This price will be reflected on your sales transactions like invoices, sales orders, etc. |
Purchase Price | Price at which you buy the product from your suppliers. This price will be reflected on your purchase transactions like bills, purchase orders, etc. |
Manage Inventory | Select Manage Inventory to Track Inventory for this product. |
Opening Stock | Quantity of the product which you have in hand on the opening balance date. |
Reorder Level | After the stock of the product reaches this level, you will receive a notification. |
Tax Group | Select the tax rates GST to be applied on the product (can be changed in transactions). |
Custom Fields | Assign a default value for the custom fields of the product. |
How to Edit Product.
- Go to the INVENTORY menu and select MANAGE PRODUCT.
- Click Action-->Edit in the right of the list.
- After updating all details, click UPDATE.
How to Delete Product.
- Go to the INVENTORY menu and select MANAGE PRODUCT.
- Select Action-->Delete.
- Click DELETE IT to confirm.
How to Clone Product.
If you want to Create an Export invoice with the same details as an existing one, you can choose to clone it rather than create a new invoice. Here’s how:
- Go to the INVENTORY menu and select MANAGE PRODUCT.
- Click Action-->Clone in the right of the list.
- Make necessary changes in the New invoice page.
- Click Save to Create a new cloned Invoice.
How to Mark as Inactive Product.
- Go to the INVENTORY menu and select MANAGE PRODUCT.
- Select Action-->Mark as Inactive.
- Click YES to confirm.
